Missionary Prayer Stormers!

"THE PRAYER STORMERS"

The Lord has allowed me to lead a Missionary Prayer Meeting that started about two years ago and we are now able to meet once a month with the young people from Calvary Baptist Church, and once a week with the Spanish young men from Emmanuel Baptist church in Smyrna! The name of this group is the “Prayer Stormers” and the main goal is to see our prayers make a difference in the lives of missionaries across the world and that they will have more boldness through the prayers that have been and will be said for them! If I can say it this way, we are holding the rope for those who have already gone down into the well! One man said “you should have marks from where you have been holding the rope." Amen! We hope to see this grow as I will be sharing this burden in churches while on deputation and also some Christian schools. If you are a Pastor and you would like to see your young people get a heart for missions, I would love to come and bring my team to present this powerful ministry to your church or Christian school. We have three Goals:

1. Pray for missionaries

This means to not just ask God to bless them but to really find out their needs so that you can pray more affectively!

 

2. Give to missions

We should be giving three parts of our lives:
1. Our Time
2. Our money
3. Our Hearts

3. Go to "your" mission field

God has a mission field for every single person rather it be here in the States or somewhere across the world. This group helps you see the will of God for your life through the praying that you do for the world and missionaries on the field.


How Do We Conduct the Missionary Prayer Meeting?

We try to have a missionary come to speak or sometimes we will call a missionary and get them to update the group so that we can pray for those needs right after we hang up with them. We have a system of contacting the missionaries that we pray for that night so that they can know that we as a group prayed for them. This opens up for them to give the group more things to pray about. We try to focus on a different Continent each prayer meeting. We also will hand things out that have the missionaries and their families names so each person will get at least  three names to pray for.
